As the Big Bang's tenth anniversary approaches, Hublot has yet to realize that it’s time to rid the Big Bang from their collection or, at the very least, introduce some major aesthetic and technical changes....
Read MoreIn the midst of the infamous quartz crisis, Angelus, the acclaimed Swiss chronograph manufacture, halted production and closed up shop for good. As a watchmaking powerhouse for over 125 years....
Read MoreLet's face it, there are A LOT of collectible vintage watches out there: The Daytona, the Speedmaster, the El Primero, the Tank, the Royal Oak, the Fifty Fathoms, the Memovox, and many other "must-have" watches for the established collector. But what if you could only have one watch? A watch that would remain timeless, hold its value, and still possess these traits after sitting in a time capsule for a few decades....

Read MoreI stopped by Manfredi Jewels today to take a look at a classic, cool, and amazingly well-priced column-wheel chronograph by Longines. Read MoreWithout a doubt, I can surely say I’ve got a keen eye for watches of merit. Today, at Christie’s, I tried on everything from a steel ‘72 Daytona with a once black dial that had wondrously aged into a rich deep-brown tone, to an oddly shaped Serpico y Laino signed Patek that I, honestly, did not even know existed. These watches may break sale records, along with a couple dozen more, but the quality of a wristwatch does not hinge on the number of digits you have to write out in your checkbook to acquire that piece. Naturally, I wandered over to the “no reserve” case to get a sense of what was being offered to guys like me who, let’s just say, haven’t the luxury of throwing down a stack of cash on a new addition to their collection. In this “no reserve” case were some pretty astonishing watches that I would never expect to see...
