The Rolex Submariner, reference 1680, is one of the most iconic Rolex models of the 1970’s era. This Submariner is a striking specimen, boasting incredible all-around aesthetics, condition, and completeness. The matte black dial is mint condition—no surface flaws—and the original tritium lume has aged to a deep pumpkin shade, which is such a scarce find these days. The 40mm case is indiscernible from unpolished; in my opinion polished once lightly. When a pumpkin Submariner hits the market, typically it will vanish into a collection, for good. Never have I seen a comparable Pumpkin 1680 accompanied by the inner/outer box, papers, wallet, booklet, and caseback sticker.
