VIDEO: Introducing Throne Watch Company “Designed in Brooklyn. Assembled in America.”

Over here, at thewatchadviser.com, it’s not often that I get to introduce a watch manufactured somewhere other than Switzerland, Germany, or Japan. Well, today I’m not introducing a watch; I’m introducing a brand, an inspiring one. Originating from the collaborative ideas of six friends living in New York’s most creative borough, Brooklyn, Throne Watch Company salvages forsaken watches and gets them back to where they belong: on the wrist.

At first, this was just a hobby. Practically every night, the guys would gather after work to hand-make watchstraps for family, friends, and co-workers. With backing from a friend, who was in the leather goods industry, their side-job evolved into a full-time, remunerative operation.

Recently, Throne Watch Co. launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the Throne 1.0, a simple Brooklyn-assembled (and designed) wristwatch with a Ronda 1004 Slimtech quartz movement (Swiss made). In two variations, steel with a black dial and gold plated with a white dial, the watches pair perfectly with their new Horween leather NATOs. Presently, pricing and information is limited, but you can visit www.thronewatches.com for updates. You’ll be hearing a lot more about Throne Watch Company soon!
